Dreams!

Dreams

From a young age you’re asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” The answer has changed so much for me. When I was a kid all I wanted to do was be a vet. I wanted to save and take care of as many animals as possible.

Unfortunately, my dreams of being a vet changed as I got older. I just didn’t have it in me to look someone in the eyes and tell them I can’t save their pet. Throughout high school, I jumped around with the question “What do I want to be when I grow up?” I went from wanting to be an actress to working for a magazine to being a talk show host. When it was time for me to pick a major for college, I decided on mass communication. I had a short college career, (I went to early college) so I worked for the student radio station. I knew I wanted to work in the media, but I was always afraid to voice it.

Confession time: I had another bad habit of talking myself out of doing things because of fear of failure.I didn’t want to do something risky and fail with no idea on what to do next. Another thing I would do was let others success put me down before I even tried. I wasn’t jealous over their success or accomplishments; however, I felt as if I would never be as good as they were. I was scared of failure and disappointment. As of now, I’m taking the chances and not letting fear stop me from trying.

My dream is so clear and yet so foggy. I don’t know exactly what I want to do, but I know where I want to end up. I want to make a difference and use my voice in a positive way. I want to live comfortably and make the best out of each day.

Some people give up on their dreams. They become so comfortable in their lives that they don’t see the need to go after what they have dreamed for throughout life. Dreams have no time nor age limit. We all deserve to pursue and enjoy the pursuit of our dreams. Go after what you want fearlessly and determined to succeed! And if you should miss the mark the first time; use that as a tool to tweak and realign your approach.
