Encouraging Others!

Encouraging Others!

People really underestimate the power of words. It’s important to make sure you use your words for good instead of evil. You never know what a person may be going through and how your words can make a difference. I try to be there for my loved ones and make sure I encourage and support whatever they may have going on in life. Even if I notice a customer having a bad day I try to encourage them the best way I know.

Discourage: to deprive of courage, hope, or confidence; dishearten; dispirit

There are discouraged people with no one there to listen or support. No one ever wants to admit to being something other than “fine” or “ok”; for the sake of exposing their true feelings. Life can hit you hard and leave you in discouraging situations. I’m here to say, it’s ok to share those discouragements. If you share them, I promise you there will be someone waiting to encourage you. God uses people that way.

I have to admit that I hate being vulnerable. I bottle up my emotions and discouragements and try to handle it myself. Truth is, that never works out and I find myself sharing my true feelings. Next thing I know, I’m being encouraged and turned around. If I had continued to hold everything in, I wouldn’t have been able to experience the importance of encouraging others. It can make you feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders.

If your friend has a dream or a problem, be there for them. If Negative Nancy is having another “I can’t win” rant, let them know they can do anything they set their mind to do. Stop whining and start winning. I encourage you today to encourage others. Take the extra step, because deep down you would want the same in return.
