Happy Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving because, it gives us the chance to slow down and enjoy our loved ones. Everyone is in the kitchen, family in and out of the house, and nothing but love in the air. We also get the chance to express our gratitude and give thanks.

This Thanksgiving was a little different for me. It was the first Thanksgiving in almost 4 years that I don’t have someone special to share with. It’s weird. I don’t have someone that’s been there so long there with me. Wow. I’m really single. Yes, I’ve been single for about a year now; however, it’s something about seeing everyone on holidays with their special someone that reminds you of the obvious.

I love my family for being there for me and I’m grateful that I didn’t spend today completely alone. I made the best of my Thanksgiving by saying “This too shall pass.” Focus on today and not yesterday.

I know there are more people thinking about someone that’s no longer there. My heart goes out to you. I encourage you to enjoy today. Don’t dwell in sadness but rejoice in another chance to get it right. If you happen to be completely alone today, find a shelter or a church go and to give back to. Live for today and not yesterday!
