It’s Been A While
Hello my Beautifully-Complexers! Yes, I know it’s been a while since we’ve last spoken. I blame it on 2020. I haven’t been able to put this year into words. We asked for 2020 vision and we got it: the good, bad, and the ugly. It’s crazy for me to say that the pandemic had little impact on my frustrations of 2020. The main thing I have struggled with this year is people. I mean…people have really tested my patience.
To me this year started off rocky with the sudden loss of Kobe Bryant. Then COVID came in and made it’s name known. So many lives were lost. Social Injustice sparked more people to do the right thing, but it was short lived when the election came around. It was sad to see people for who they really are. Through it all we took it one day at a time and made the best out of the situation. I’m so grateful to have survived this year with my loved ones.
It has been a journey for me. I was having the most challenging time writing, and you all know writing is my escape. The inspiration just would not come. Sadly, I have lost my passion for writing. I cannot tell you how many drafts I have written with no promise lol. But here we are, our end of the year post. I can say, I have grown this year. First, I broke my cycle of feeling down about myself. I guess the way this year has gone, I did not have time to go down that path.
Secondly, I have managed to find my voice. I’m not afraid to speak up, because one thing is for sure, I have spared too many people feelings. This year I protected my own feelings. I don’t know if that came from me working over the phone or from just being fed up. Maybe it was both lol. Cadesia’s voice matters! I’m curious to know what some of you all’s personal wins were this year.
All in all 2020 was exhausting. Honestly, I would not trade it. 2020 has made us stronger and grateful. My condolences to everyone who has lost a loved one this year. I hope we don’t put all our plans and hopes into 2021. Let us continue to take it one day at a time. Let us not hold back and let us make it our mission to smile every single day. Cheers to 2021.
Thank you!
I absolutely love it...I look forward too reading them all!!
