January 2021

January 2021

Happy New Year! So, I decided to do monthly recaps whenever I am not able to think of a specific topic. That way I am not forcing anything and becoming frustrated with myself. I want to be passionate about writing again. I want it to flow again. I want to have a creative breakthrough and take my writing to the next level. I know this is the year I must push myself and make it happen. With that being said, let’s talk about January.

My month/year started on the best note ever, I GOT ENGAGED! Little ol’ me will be getting married in September! I can’t believe it! So far, we’re close to finding a venue, and I’m going dress shopping soon. The crazy thing is, I never wanted to have a wedding before and now I’m planning one. Please pray for me, you all know I become overwhelmed over everything lol. I promised to make this experience a fun one.

Sadly, on January 6, 2021 our capitol was under attack by thugs and terrorists. That was a slap in the face to every peaceful protestor that fought for equality and justice over the summer. Shame on America. We were fighting for the lives lost due to racial injustice and these thugs were fighting for their cult leader’s fake victory. It’s very disheartening to know that this is our reality.

In the mist of everything in January, I celebrated my birthday on the 18th. I went to Busch Gardens and out to dinner with my fiancé and friends the day before. That was fun, but my actual birthday felt weird. I spent half of the day babysitting then my fiancé took me out to eat. It did not feel like my birthday at all lol.

Despite the mess that took place on January 6, 2021, we had our new president and first woman/person of color vice president sworn into office. I pray for positive changes and a better four years than we previously had. Serious improvements need to take place in the country.

January was an eventful month. I hope February gives us more positivity and hope. We are still in a pandemic and I’m ready to have fun again. I ended January making vision boards with my friends. I am so excited to see God work and start checking my goals off my list. I will get a new and better job and I will have a creative breakthrough. I must fight for what I want in 2021.
