New Year Resolutions
Well we’re three weeks into the new year! I hope everything is going well for everyone. As every new year begin, we normally set aside new year resolutions. A promise or commitment that you’ve made for yourself. “New year, new me!” Are we keeping up with our commitments or did we already give up?
People; me included, have the tendency to give up on our resolutions after our first slip up or mistake.
“I said I wasn’t going to eat sweets during the week, but it was cookie day at work and I ate one. I guess I should give up on my resolution.”
Why do we give up after one mistake? We are imperfect people, who seem to always strive for perfection and fold if we do not deliver it. Instead of pushing ourselves, we retreat to what’s comfortable. Why is it so hard for us to believe in ourselves? To push ourselves?
I said before, 2018 is my year. I am determined to push myself and discover even more about myself. I encourage you to want the same with your new year resolutions and day-to-day tasks. This is the year that we commit to bettering ourselves. You made your new year resolution for a reason, so no matter what; stick with them.
Don’t let your slip ups stop you from being great. So what you ate that cookie? Keep pushing and commit to not making the same mistake. To me new year resolutions are supposed to turn into daily habits. Let’s make our resolutions count!
