Taking L’s
There are times in life where you take a “L.” Meaning you were knocked down or failed at something. Whether the person you’ve finally found the courage to ask out rejected you or you didn’t pass that test you’ve studied hard to pass; we’ve taken L’s. It’s ok, it happens. I’m not too fond of failing myself. But over the years I’ve learned how to turn my L’s into W’s.
As I’ve stated many many times before, I am extremely hard on myself. I don’t like losing or failing because I feel like “Cadesia, you’re smarter than this.” I get inside my head and never improve. That embarrassing and disappointing feeling I felt, had to stop. So I decided; “Cadesia, you have to own your losses and make them better.” It’s tough sucking up your pride and taking a L, but I’m getting better at it.
Instead of me crying and whining over not passing a test or getting rejected I just accept it and try harder next time. By changing my mindset I’ve managed to develop this confidence that I didn’t know existed. I’ve learned to take my L’s with dignity and grace, turning them into W’s the next time. I finally mastered this mind game of failure.
So whenever you take a L remember to not let it define you. You can do as I did, and just let go of that voice in your head telling you you’re not good enough. You are not a failure and you will get past this part of your life. It doesn’t matter how long it takes you. We are not failures and we can do anything.
