Unaffiliated
Did ya miss me? It has been almost three years since my previous post, and let's just say..... life has been life-ing. For starters, I'm not certain if I mentioned this but I was pregnant in the 2021 post. My husband and I welcomed the most amazing human being into the world on May 12, 2022. She goes by Paige. I said goodbye to my furry little man, Smokey in 2023. Oh, and I reached the milestone of turning 30 this year (2024) and loc'd my hair. Of course, there are details missed and more to catch you up on (I mean it's been three years.) However, that is not the purpose of THIS post. Sooooooooo, let's get into it.
Upon registering in my new county, I made the decision to be an unaffiliated voter. I believe it’s not about "the blues beating the reds" or "the reds beating the blues," but rather selecting the candidate who is truly best for our country. And sure, I am not going to agree with everything each candidate proposes. There is no such thing as a perfect candidate that says and does everything you want.

Given this information, I did not vote for the winner of the 2024 election. I simply do not support his character and actions. Love it or hate it, that’s my truth.
Transparency moment: I cried a lotttttt on decision day. I cried for everyone that may be affected negatively by "the project." I cried out of anger because I felt helpless. I cried so much that my head and stomach started to ache. Having shed all of my tears, I was left with one conclusion. Although, I am frustrated and disappointed with America’s decision, there’s nothing I can do about it. He won and life goes on. Do I understand it? No. Do I trust in the Lord? Yes. Did it take me over a week to accept this reality? Absolutely! God made me a compassionate human being. 🤷🏾♀️ But, the Holy Spirit gave me a beautiful reminder.
Galatians 6:7-10 NLT
“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone especially those in the family of faith.”
In conclusion, I am confident that my loved ones and I will be just fine. God has us. Everything will unfold as it always does. I will faithfully follow the word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, it's not about who's running our country, but rather embodying the fruit of the spirit in your daily lives.
